English Translation
Narrated Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him): I entered the mosque and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was sitting among the people, so I sat down too. He (peace be upon him) said, "What prevented you from praying two rak'ahs before sitting?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah! I saw you (peace be upon him) and the people sitting (so I sat down)." He (peace be upon him) said, "When any of you enters the mosque, let him not sit until he has prayed two rak'ahs."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں مسجد میں گیا اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلملوگوں میں بیٹھے ہوئے تھے تو میں بھی بیٹھ گیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تمہیں بیٹھنے سے پہلے دو رکعت پڑھنے سے کس نے روکا؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اور لوگوں کو بیٹھے دیکھا (تو میں بیٹھ گیا)، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا جب تم میں سے کوئی مسجد میں آئے، تو جب تک دو رکعت نہ پڑھ لے نہ بیٹھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 248]
