English Translation
Narrated Abu Salamah bin Abdur-Rahman: Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Said (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by, and I said to him, "How did you hear your father narrating which mosque it is that was founded upon piety?" He said, "My father (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the house of one of his wives and said, 'O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Which mosque is it that Allah, the Exalted, says was built upon piety?' So he (peace be upon him) took a handful of pebbles and struck them on the ground and said, 'It is this mosque of yours,' that is, the mosque of Medina." (Abu Salamah bin Abdur-Rahman, the narrator of the hadith, said:) I said, "I too bear witness that I heard your father Abu Said al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) mention this mosque in just this way."
Urdu Translation
ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمن کہتے ہیں کہسیدنا عبدالرحمن بن ابی سعید رضی اللہ عنہ گزرے تو میں نے ان سے کہا کہ آپ نے اپنے والد کو کیسے سنا کہ وہ بیان کرتے تھے کہ وہ کون سی مسجد ہے جس کی بنیاد تقویٰ پر رکھی گئی ہے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا کہ میرے والد رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی خدمت میں، آپ کی بیویوں میں سے کسی ایک کے گھر میں حاضر ہوا اور میں نے عرض کیا کہ اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! وہ مسجد کون سی ہے جس کو اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے کہ تقویٰ پر بنائی گئی ہے؟ تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک مٹھی کنکر لے کر زمین پر مارے اور فرمایا کہ وہ یہی تمہاری مسجد ہے یعنی مدینہ کی مسجد۔ (ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمن راوی حدیث کہتے ہیں) میں نے کہا کہ میں بھی گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ میں نے بھی تمہارے والد سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا ہے کہ وہ اس مسجد کا ایسا ہی ذکر کیا کرتے تھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 237]
