English Translation
Narrated Abu Salamah: He asked the Mother of the Believers Aishah the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her) about the two rak'ahs that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray after Asr. She said, "He used to pray them before Asr, then once he was occupied with something or forgot, so he prayed them after Asr, and thereafter he continued to pray them always. And it was the Prophet's (peace be upon him) habit that whenever he performed a prayer, he would continue to perform it regularly." Ismail bin Jafar said that she meant that he maintained it constantly.

ابوسلمہ نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سےان دو رکعتوں کے بارے میں پوچھا جو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمعصر کے بعد پڑھتے تھے، تو انہوں نے کہا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمعصر سے پہلے پڑھا کرتے تھے، پھر ایک بار آپ کو کوئی کام ہو گیا یا بھول گئے تو عصر کے بعد پڑھیں پھر ہمیشہ پڑھتے رہے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی عادت تھی کہ جب کوئی نماز پڑھتے تو ہمیشہ پڑھا کرتے تھے اسمعیل بن جعفر نے کہا کہ ان کی مراد یہ تھی کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس پر ہمیشگی کی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 220]
