English Translation
Musa ibn 'Ali narrated from his father that Mustawrid al-Qurashi (may Allah be pleased with him) said in the presence of 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "The Hour will be established when the Christians are the most numerous of all people (that is, more than the Hindus and the Muslims)." 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Look, what are you saying?" Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I say only what I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)." 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "If you say so (then it is true); and this is because there are four qualities in the Christians: they are the most steadfast in time of calamity, the quickest to recover after calamity, the first to attack again after fleeing, and the best of all people toward the poor, the orphan, and the weak. And there is a fifth quality that is most excellent: they are the most restraining of the tyranny of kings."
Urdu Translation
موسیٰ بن علی اپنے باپ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہمستورد قرشی رضی اللہ عنہ نے سیدنا عمرو بن عاص رضی اللہ عنہ کے سامنے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ قیامت اس وقت قائم ہو گی جب نصاریٰ سب لوگوں سے زیادہ ہوں گے (یعنی ہندو اور مسلمانوں سے)۔ سیدنا عمرو رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ دیکھ تو کیا کہتا ہے؟ مستورد رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں تو وہی کہتا ہوں جو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا ہے۔ سیدنا عمرو رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ اگر تو کہتا ہے (تو سچ ہے) تو یہ اس لئے ہے کہ نصاریٰ میں چار خصلتیں ہیں۔ وہ مصیبت کے وقت نہایت حوصلہ والے ہیں، مصیبت کے بعد سب سے جلدی ہوشیار ہوتے ہیں، بھاگنے کے بعد سب سے پہلے پھر حملہ کرتے ہیں اور سب لوگوں میں مسکین یتیم اور ضعیف کے لئے بہتر ہیں اور ایک پانچویں خصلت بھی ہے جو نہایت عمدہ ہے کہ وہ بادشاہوں کے ظلم کو زیادہ روکنے والے ہیں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2026]
