English Translation
Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed there will be many trials. Beware! There will be many trials. In them the one sitting will be better than the one walking, and the one walking will be better than the one running. Beware! When trial and corruption descend or occur, then whoever has camels, let him join his camels; whoever has sheep, let him join his sheep; and whoever has land (for cultivation), let him go to his land." A man said, "O Messenger of Allah! What of one who has neither camels, nor sheep, nor land?" He (peace be upon him) said, "Let him take his sword and blunt its edge with a stone (that is, let him keep nothing to fight with that would give courage for battle), then let him seek deliverance and escape as best he can. O Allah, have I conveyed Your command? O Allah, have I conveyed Your command? O Allah, have I conveyed Your command?" A man said, "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, if I am compelled by force so that I am taken into one of two ranks or one of two groups, and then someone there strikes me with a sword or an arrow comes and kills me?" He (peace be upon him) said, "He will bear his own sin and yours, and will go to Hell."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: بیشک کئی فتنے ہوں گے۔ خبردار رہو! کئی فتنے ہوں گے۔ ان میں بیٹھنے والا چلنے والے (لوگوں) سے بہتر ہو گا اور بھاگنے والے (لوگوں) سے چلنے والا بہتر ہو گا۔ خبردار رہو! جب فتنہ اور فساد اترے یا واقع ہو تو جس کے اونٹ ہوں وہ اپنے اونٹوں میں جا ملے اور جس کی بکریاں ہوں وہ اپنی بکریوں میں جا ملے اور جس کی (کھیتی کی) زمین ہو، وہ اپنی زمین میں جا رہے۔ ایک شخص نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! جس کے نہ اونٹ ہوں اور نہ بکریاں اور نہ زمین ہو، وہ کیا کرے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ وہ اپنی تلوار اٹھائے اور پتھر سے اس کی باڑھ کو کوٹ ڈالے (یعنی لڑنے کی کوئی چیز باقی نہ رکھے جو لڑائی کا حوصلہ ہو)، پھر اپنی استطاعت کے مطابق بچاؤ اور نجات کا راستہ اختیار کرے۔ الٰہی کیا میں نے تیرا حکم پہنچا دیا، الٰہی کیا میں نے تیرا حکم پہنچا دیا، الٰہی کیا میں نے تیرا حکم پہنچا دیا۔ ایک شخص بولا کہ یا رسول اللہ! بتلائیے کہ اگر مجھ پر زبردستی کی جائے یہاں تک کہ مجھے دو صفوں میں سے یا دو گروہوں میں سے ایک لے جائیں، پھر وہاں کوئی مجھے تلوار مارے یا تیر آئے اور مجھے قتل کر دے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ وہ اپنا اور تیرا گناہ سمیٹ لے گا اور دوزخ میں جائے گا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2004]
