English Translation
Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah the Exalted folded up the earth for me (that is, He folded up all the earth and presented it before me), and I saw its east and its west. And the dominion of my nation will reach as far as the earth was shown to me. And I was given two treasures, the red and the white (that is, gold and silver, or the treasures of Caesar and Chosroes). And I prayed to my Lord that He would not destroy my nation by a general famine, and that He would not set over them an outside enemy who would break their unity and cut off their root (that is, that they be utterly annihilated). My Lord said: 'O Muhammad! When I decree a matter, it is not reversed. And I have granted you these prayers of yours: I will not destroy your nation by a general famine, nor will I set over them an outside enemy, not of themselves, who would cut off their root, even if all the people of the earth gathered together (to destroy the Muslims, yet they would not be able to destroy them), until the Muslims themselves destroy one another and take one another captive.'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ثوبان رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ نے میرے لئے زمین کو لپیٹ دیا (یعنی سب زمین کو لپیٹ کر میرے سامنے کر دیا) تو میں نے اس کا مشرق و مغرب دیکھا اور میری امت کی حکومت وہاں تک پہنچے گی جہاں تک زمین مجھے دکھلائی گئی اور مجھے سرخ اور سفید دو خزانے دیئے گئے (یعنی سونا اور چاندی یا قیصر و کسریٰ کے خزانے)۔ اور میں نے اپنے رب سے دعا کی کہ میری امت کو عام قحط سے ہلاک نہ کرنا اور ان پر کوئی غیر دشمن ایسا غالب نہ کرنا کہ ان کا جتھا ٹوٹ جائے اور ان کی جڑ کٹ جائے (یعنی بالکل نیست و نابود نابود ہو جائیں)۔ میرے پروردگار نے فرمایا کہ اے محمد! جب میں کوئی فیصلہ کر دیتا ہوں پھر وہ نہیں پلٹتا اور میں نے تیری یہ دعائیں قبول کیں اور تیری امت کو عام قحط سے ہلاک نہ کروں گا نہ ان پر کوئی غیر دشمن جو ان میں سے نہ ہو، ایسا غالب کروں گا کہ جو ان کی جڑ کاٹ دے، اگرچہ زمین کے تمام لوگ (مسلمانوں کو تباہ کرنے کے لئے) اکٹھے ہو جائیں (مگر ان کو تباہ نہ کر سکیں گے) یہاں تک کہ خود مسلمان ایک دوسرے کو ہلاک کریں گے اور ایک دوسرے کو قید کریں گے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2000]
