English Translation
Abu Zayd (that is, 'Amr ibn Akhtab) (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) led us in the dawn prayer, then ascended the pulpit and delivered an admonition to us until the time of Zuhr came. Then he (peace be upon him) descended and prayed. Then he ascended the pulpit and admonished us until the time of 'Asr came. Then he descended and prayed. Then he ascended the pulpit and admonished us until the sun set. So he informed us of all that had happened and all that was to happen. And the most learned among us is the one who remembered these matters most.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوزید (یعنی عمرو بن اخطب) رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہمیں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فجر کی نماز پڑھائی اور منبر پر چڑھ کر ہمیں وعظ سنایا، یہاں تک کہ ظہر کا وقت آ گیا۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماترے اور نماز پڑھی۔ پھر منبر پر چڑھے اور ہمیں وعظ سنایا، یہاں تک کہ عصر کا وقت آ گیا۔ پھر اترے اور نماز پڑھی۔ پھر منبر پر چڑھے اور ہمیں وعظ سنایا، یہاں تک کہ سورج ڈوب گیا۔ پس جو کچھ ہو چکا ہے اور جو کچھ ہونے والا تھا، سب کی ہمیں خبر دے دی۔ اور ہم میں سب سے زیادہ وہ عالم ہے جس نے سب سے زیادہ ان باتوں کو یاد رکھا ہو۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1995]
