English Translation
Narrated Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to attack the enemies early in the morning and would keep his ears alert for the sound of the adhan. If he heard the sound of the adhan (from the town of the adversaries), he would not attack them. Once he heard a man saying "Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar," so he said: "This is a Muslim." Then he heard him saying "Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah," so he said: "O man, you have gained deliverance from the Fire." When the people looked, he was a shepherd of goats.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمصبح سویرے ہی دشمنوں پر حملہ کرتے تھے اور اذان کی آواز پر کان لگائے رکھتے تھے، اگر (مخالفوں کے شہر سے) آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اذان کی آواز سنائی دیتی، تو ان پر حملہ نہ کرتے تھے۔ ایک مرتبہ ایک شخص کو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اللہ اکبر اللہ اکبر کہتے سنا تو فرمایا کہ یہ مسلمان ہے۔ اس کے بعد آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اسے اشہد ان لا الٰہ الا اﷲ، اشہد ان لا الٰہ الا اﷲ کہتے سنا تو ارشاد فرمایا کہ اے شخص تو نے دوزخ سے نجات پائی۔ لوگوں نے دیکھا تو وہ بکریوں کا چرواہا تھا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 195]
