English Translation
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara' bin 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When you go to sleep, perform ablution as you perform it for prayer, then lie down on your right side and say: 'O Allah! I have submitted my face to You, entrusted my affair to You, and relied upon You, out of desire for Your reward and out of fear of Your punishment. And I have believed in Your Book which You revealed and in Your Prophet whom You sent. There is no refuge or escape from You except to You.' Let this supplication be your last words. (And he said:) Then if you die during that night, you will die upon Islam (with a good ending)." And Sayyiduna Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I recited these words to memorize them again, and instead of 'Your Prophet' I said 'Your Messenger,' so he (peace be upon him) said, "Say 'Your Prophet.'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا براء بن عازب رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: جب تو سونے کو جائے تو وضو کر جیسے نماز کے لئے وضو کرتے ہیں پھر داہنی کروٹ پر لیٹ کر کہہ”اے اللہ! میں نے اپنا منہ تیرے لئے جھکا دیا اور اپنا کام تجھے سونپ دیا اور تجھ پر بھروسہ کیا، تیرے ثواب کی خواہش سے اور تیرے عذاب سے ڈر کر۔ اور میں ایمان لایا تیری کتاب پر جو تو نے اتاری اور تیرے نبی پر جس کو تو نے بھیجا۔ تجھ سے بچنے کے لئے نہ کوئی پناہ کی جگہ ہے اور نہ کوئی ٹھکانہ۔ آخری بات یہی دعا ہو۔ (اور فرمایا کہ) پھر اگر تو اس رات کو مر جائے تو اسلام پر مرے گا (اور خاتمہ بخیر ہو گا) اور سیدنا براء رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں نے ان کلموں کو دوبارہ یاد کرنے کے لئے پڑھا تو”بنبیّک“کے بدلے”برسولک“کہا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ”بنبیّک“کہو۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1896]
