English Translation
Narrated Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah al-Siddiqah, the pure and chaste (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Ten things are from the natural disposition (fitrah): 1. Trimming the moustache. 2. Letting the beard grow. 3. Using the tooth-stick (miswak). 4. Putting water into the nose. 5. Clipping the nails. 6. Washing the finger-joints (and the insides of the ears, the nose, the armpits, and the thighs). 7. Plucking the armpit hair. 8. Removing the pubic hair. 9. Cleaning oneself with water (or sprinkling a little water over the private part after ablution)." Mus'ab said: I have forgotten the tenth; perhaps it is rinsing the mouth. Waki' (may Allah have mercy on him) said: 'Intiqas al-ma'' (which occurs in the hadith) means cleaning oneself with water (istinja).

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ طیبہ طاہرہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: دس باتیں پیدائشی سنت ہیں۔ 1: مونچھیں کترنا۔ 2: داڑھی چھوڑ دینا۔ 3: مسواک کرنا۔ 4: ناک میں پانی ڈالنا۔ 5: ناخن کاٹنا۔ 6: پوروں کا دھونا (کانوں کے اندر اور ناک اور بغل اور رانوں کا دھونا) 7: بغل کے بال اکھیڑنا۔ 8: زیر ناف بال لینا۔ 9: پانی سے استنجاء کرنا (یا شرمگاہ پر وضو کے بعد تھوڑا سا پانی چھڑک لینا)۔ مصعب نے کہا کہ میں دسویں بات بھول گیا۔ شاید کلی کرنا ہو۔ وکیع رحمہ اللہ نے کہا: انتقاص المآء (جو حدیث میں وارد ہے) اس سے استنجاء مراد ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 182]
