English Translation
Narrated Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her): Umm Habibah bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "I suffer from prolonged non-menstrual bleeding (istihadah)." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "This blood is from a vein, so bathe and pray." Then she used to bathe for every prayer. Layth said: Ibn Shihab did not state that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had ordered her to bathe for every prayer; rather, Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) herself did so.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہام حبیبہ بنت جحش رضی اللہ عنہا نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے پوچھا کہ مجھے استحاضہ ہے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ یہ خون ایک رگ کا ہے تو غسل کر اور نماز پڑھ۔ پھر وہ ہر نماز کے لئے غسل کرتی تھیں۔ لیث نے کہا کہ ابن شہاب نے یہ نہیں بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کو ہر نماز کے لئے غسل کرنے کا حکم کیا تھا بلکہ ام حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے خود ایسا کیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 179]
