Narrated byAbu Sa'id al-Khudri and Abu Hurayrah
English Translation
Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Might is the (lower) garment of Allah, the Exalted, and greatness is His (upper) cloak (that is, these two are His attributes). Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says, 'Whoever tries to snatch either of these from Me, I will punish him.'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابو سعید خدری اور سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: عزت اللہ تعالیٰ کی (تہبند کی) چادر ہے اور بڑائی اس کی (اوڑھنے کی) چادر ہے (یعنی یہ دونوں اس کی صفتیں ہیں) پھر اللہ عزوجل فرماتا ہے کہ جو کوئی یہ مجھ سے چھیننے کی کوشش کرے گا، میں اس کو عذاب دوں گا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1786]
