English Translation
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: I recognize the voices of the Ash'aris in reciting the Qur'an when they come at night, and by their voices at night I recognize their lodging too, even though I did not see their lodging by day when they alighted by day. And among these people is a wise man who, when he meets the horsemen of the disbelievers or the enemy, says to them: Our people tell you to give us a respite, or wait a little — that is, we too are ready and are coming to fight (that is, he saves himself by his wisdom and sagacity, because the enemy thinks that he is not alone but that others are with him).
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: کہ میں اشعریوں کی آواز قرآن پڑھنے سے پہچان لیتا ہوں جب وہ رات کو آتے ہیں اور رات کو ان کی آواز سے ان کا ٹھکانہ بھی پہچان لیتا ہوں اگرچہ دن کو ان کا ٹھکانہ نہ دیکھا ہو جب وہ دن کو اترے ہوں۔ اور انہی لوگوں میں سے ایک شخص حکیم ہے کہ جب کافروں کے سواروں سے یا دشمنوں سے ملتا ہے تو ان سے کہتا ہے ہمارے لوگ تم سے کہتے ہیں کہ ذرا ہمیں فرصت دو یا تھوڑا انتظار کرو یعنی ہم بھی تیار ہیں لڑنے کو آتے ہیں (یعنی اپنے تئیں دانائی اور حکمت سے بچا لیتا ہے کیونکہ دشمن یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ یہ اکیلا نہیں ہے بلکہ اس کے ساتھ اور لوگ بھی ہیں)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1730]
