English Translation
Narrated Muhammad bin al-Munkadir from Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard him say that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) urged the people to fight on the day of the Trench (Khandaq). Al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) answered, "I am present and ready." Then he (peace be upon him) called again, and al-Zubayr alone answered. Then he (peace be upon him) called again, and al-Zubayr alone answered. At last he (peace be upon him) said, "Every prophet has a special disciple, and my special disciple is al-Zubayr." Urdu Translation
محمد بن منکدر سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہوئے کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے ان کو یہ کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے خندق کے دن لوگوں کو جہاد کی ترغیب دی۔ سیدنا زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے جواب دیا کہ حاضر اور مستعد ہوں۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے بلایا تو سیدنا زبیر ہی نے جواب دیا۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے بلایا تو سیدنا زبیر ہی نے جواب دیا۔ آخر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ہر پیغمبر کا ایک خاص ساتھی ہوتا ہے اور میرا خاص ساتھی زبیر ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1643]
