English Translation
Narrated Urwah bin al-Zubayr: Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to narrate and say, "Listen, O occupant of the chamber, listen, O occupant of the chamber," while Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was praying. When she finished her prayer she said to Urwah, "Did you hear the words of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)? (How many hadiths he narrated in that short time!) Yet the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to speak in such a manner that one who counted could count his words if he wished (that is, slowly and deliberately, and this is proper etiquette; rattling on and speaking hastily is not the way of the wise and intelligent)." Urdu Translation
سیدنا عروہ بن زبیر کہتے ہیں کہسیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے تھے اور کہتے تھے کہ سن اے حجرہ والی سن اے حجرہ والی۔ اور ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نماز پڑھتی تھیں۔ جب نماز پڑھ چکیں تو انہوں نے عروہ سے کہا کہ تم نے ابوہریرہ (رضی اللہ عنہ) کی باتیں سنیں (اتنی دیر میں انہوں نے کتنی حدیثیں بیان کیں) اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس طرح سے بات کرتے تھے کہ گننے والا اس کو چاہتا تو گن لیتا (یعنی ٹھہر ٹھہر کر آہستہ سے اور یہی تہذیب ہے۔ چڑ چڑ اور جلدی جلدی باتیں کرنا عقلمندی اور دانائی کا شیوہ نہیں)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1583]
