English Translation
Narrated Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): A Jewish woman brought poisoned goat meat to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he (peace be upon him) ate some of it. Then that woman was brought to him (peace be upon him), and he (peace be upon him) asked, "What is this that you have done?" She said, "I wished to kill you (peace be upon him)." He (peace be upon him) said, "Allah the Exalted will not give you the power (to destroy His Prophet)." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Shall we not kill her?" So he (peace be upon him) said, "No." (This was his (peace be upon him) mercy upon her, and from it also follows that he (peace be upon him) was a true Prophet, for had he been a king he would have had that woman killed.) The narrator said: I continued to feel the effect of that poison in the uvula of his (peace be upon him) throat.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہایک یہودیہ عورت رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس زہر ملا کر بکری کا گوشت لائی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس میں سے کھایا۔ پھر وہ عورت آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس لائی گئی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پوچھا کہ یہ تو نے کیا کیا؟ وہ بولی کہ میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو مار ڈالنا چاہتی تھی۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ تجھے اتنی طاقت دینے والا نہیں (کہ تو اس کے پیغمبر کو ہلاک کر سکے)۔ صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ہم اس کو قتل نہ کر دیں؟ تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ نہیں (یہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا اس پر رحم تھا اور اس سے یہ بھی نکلتا ہے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمپیغمبر برحق تھے ورنہ اگر بادشاہ ہوتے تو اس عورت کو قتل کراتے) راوی نے کہا کہ میں ہمیشہ اس زہر کا اثر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے حلق کے کوے میں پاتا رہا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1542]
