English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "The truest words spoken by any poet are these words of Labid: 'Behold, everything besides Allah is vain.' And Umayyah, the son of Abi Salt, was close to Islam (because his beliefs were good, though he remained deprived of Islam)."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: شاعروں میں سب سے زیادہ سچ کلام لبید کا یہ کلام ہے کہ”خبردار اللہ کے علاوہ ہر چیز لغو ہے“اور ابوصلت کا بیٹا امیہ اسلام کے قریب تھا (کیونکہ اس کے عقائد اچھے تھے گوہ وہ اسلام سے محروم رہا)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1507]
