English Translation
Suwayd ibn Ghaflah narrated that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a sermon at al-Jabiyah and said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade wearing silk, except for the width of two, three, or four fingers."
Urdu Translation
سوید بن غفلہ سے روایت ہے کہسیدنا عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے (مقام) جابیہ میں خطبہ پڑھا تو کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے حریر (ریشمی کپڑا) پہننے سے منع فرمایا مگر (یہ کہ) دو انگلی یا تین یا چار انگلی کے برابر (ہو)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1339]
