English Translation
Narrated Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Purity is half of faith. And 'Alhamdulillah' (all praise is due to Allah) fills the scale" (that is, its reward is so great that the scale in which deeds are weighed is filled by its reward). "And 'SubhanAllah' and 'Alhamdulillah' both fill what is between the heavens and the earth. Prayer is light, charity is a proof, patience is illumination, and the Qur'an is a proof for you or against you" (if one acts upon the Qur'an it becomes a proof for him, and if not, it becomes a burden against him). "Every person goes out in the morning (whether good or bad) and either frees himself (by doing good deeds and thereby from Allah's punishment) or destroys himself (by doing evil deeds)."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابومالک اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: طہارت آدھے ایمان کے برابر ہے اور الحمدللہ ترازو کو بھر دے گا۔ (یعنی اس قدر اس کا ثواب عظیم ہے کہ اعمال تولنے کا ترازو اس کے اجر سے بھر جائے گا) اور سبحان اللہ اور الحمدللہ دونوں آسمانوں اور زمین کے بیچ کی جگہ کو بھر دیں گے اور نماز نور ہے اور صدقہ دلیل ہے اور صبر روشنی ہے اور قرآن تیرے لئے دلیل ہو گا یا تیرے خلاف دلیل ہو گا (اگر قرآن پر عمل ہو گا تو دلیل بن جائے گاور نہ وبال بن جائے گا)۔ ہر ایک آدمی (بھلا ہو یا برا) صبح کو اٹھتا ہے یا تو اپنے آپ کو (نیک کام کر کے اللہ کے عذاب سے) آزاد کرتا ہے یا (برے کام کر کے) اپنے آپ کو تباہ کرتا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 120]
