English Translation
Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had some of the date-palm trees of Banu an-Nadir cut down and some burned. On this occasion Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him) composed these verses: "It was made easy for the chiefs and nobles of Banu Lu'ayy (that is, Quraysh) that the palm-grove of Buwayrah is engulfed in flames." And concerning this, Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: "Whatever palm trees you cut down or left standing upon their roots, it was by the leave of Allah the Exalted, and so that He might disgrace the transgressors" (al-Hashr: 5). Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے بنی نضیر کی کھجوروں کے درخت کچھ کٹوا دیئے اور کچھ جلوا دیئے۔ اس موقع پر سیدنا حسان رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ شعر کہے: بنی لوئی (یعنی قریش) کے سرداروں اور شرفاء پر یہ آسان ہو گیا کہ بویرہ کا نخلستان آگ کی لپیٹ میں ہے۔ اور اسی بارہ میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت اتاری کہ”جو درخت تم نے کاٹے یا ان کو اپنی جڑوں پر کھڑا ہوا چھوڑ دیا، وہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے حکم سے تھا اس لئے کہ گنہگاروں کو رسوا کرے“(الحشر: 5)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1135]
