English Translation
Narrated Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): On the day of Uhud the people, having been defeated, abandoned the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and fled. And Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood before him (peace be upon him) as a shield, and Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) was a very skilled archer; that day two or three of his bows broke. Whenever a man came out carrying a quiver of arrows, he (peace be upon him) would say, "Set these arrows aside for Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him)." When he (peace be upon him) would raise his neck to look at the disbelievers, Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) would say, "O Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him)! May my mother and father be sacrificed for you; do not raise your neck, lest some arrow of the disbelievers strike you. My chest is before your chest (peace be upon him)" (that is, Abu Talhah had put his own chest forward so that if any arrow or the like came, it would strike him). Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Mother of the Believers Aishah bint Abi Bakr and Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with them), and both of them had tucked up their garments (as one does at the time of work), and I was looking at the anklets on their shins; the two of them were carrying waterskins on their backs, then giving its water to the people, then going and bringing more filled, and giving the people to drink. And from the hand of Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) the sword fell two or three times due to drowsiness. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1131]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہاحد کے دن لوگ شکست خوردہ ہو کر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو چھوڑ کر بھاگ کھڑے ہوئے۔ اور ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سامنے ڈھال بن کر کھڑے ہوئے تھے اور ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ بڑے ماہر تیرانداز تھے، ان کی اس دن دو یا تین کمانیں ٹوٹ گئیں۔ جب کوئی شخص تیروں کا ترکش لے کر نکلتا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس سے فرماتے کہ یہ تیر ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے لئے رکھ دو۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمگردن اٹھا کر کافروں کو دیکھتے، تو ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے کہ اے اللہ کے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! میرے ماں باپ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمپر قربان ہوں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمگردن مت اٹھائیے ایسا نہ ہو کہ کافروں کا کوئی تیر آپ کو لگ جائے۔ میرا سینہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سینے کے آگے ہے (یعنی ابوطلحہ نے اپنا سینہ آگے کیا تھا کہ اگر کوئی تیر وغیرہ آئے تو مجھے لگے)۔ سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ بنت ابی بکر اور ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا کو دیکھا وہ دونوں کپڑے اٹھائے ہوئے تھیں (جیسے کام کے وقت کوئی اٹھاتا ہے) اور میں ان کی پنڈلی کی پازیب کو دیکھ رہا تھا، وہ دونوں اپنی پیٹھ پر مشکیں لاتی تھیں، پھر اس کا پانی لوگوں کو پلا دیتیں، پھر جاتیں اور بھر کر لاتیں اور لوگوں کو پلا دیتیں۔ اور سیدنا ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ہاتھ سے دو تین بار اونگھ کی وجہ سے تلوار گر پڑی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1131]
