English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A man bought a piece of land from another. Then the one who had bought the land found a jar (vessel) of gold in it. The buyer said (to the seller): 'Take your gold; I bought the land from you, not the gold.' And the seller said: 'I sold you the land and whatever was in it (so the gold is yours too).' (Glory be to Allah, how good-natured and honest were both the seller and the buyer!) The narrator says: Then the two of them sought a ruling from a man, who said: 'Do you have children?' One said: 'I have a son,' and the other said: 'I have a daughter.' He said: 'Well then, marry his son to his daughter and spend this gold on the two of them, and also give some in the way of Allah.' (In short, he reconciled them, and this is recommended so that both would be pleased.)" [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1058]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: ایک شخص نے دوسرے شخص سے زمین خریدی، پھر جس نے زمین خریدی تھی اس نے سونے کا ایک مٹکا (برتن) اس میں پایا۔ خریدنے والا (بیچنے والے سے) کہنے لگا کہ تو اپنا سونا لے لے، میں نے تجھ سے زمین خریدی تھی، سونا نہیں خریدا تھا۔ اور بیچنے والے نے کہا کہ میں نے تیرے ہاتھ زمین اور جو کچھ اس میں تھا بیچا تھا (تو سونا بھی تیرا ہے۔ سبحان اللہ بائع اور مشتری دونوں کیسے خوش نیت اور ایماندار تھے) راوی کہتا ہے کہ پھر دونوں نے ایک شخص سے فیصلہ چاہا، وہ بولا کہ تمہاری اولاد ہے؟ ایک نے کہا کہ میرا ایک لڑکا ہے اور دوسرے نے کہا کہ میری ایک لڑکی ہے۔ اس نے کہا کہ اچھا اس کے لڑکے کا نکاح اس کی لڑکی سے کر دو اور اس سونے کو دونوں پر خرچ کرو اور اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہ میں بھی دو۔ (غرض صلح کرا دی اور یہ مستحب ہے تاکہ دونوں خوش رہیں)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1058]
