English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever among you says in his oath, 'By al-Lat,' let him say 'La ilaha illa Allah.' And whoever says to another, 'Come, let us gamble,' let him give charity." In one narration, along with al-Lat, al-Uzza is also mentioned. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1013]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: تم میں سے اپنی قسم میں یہ کہے کہ لات کی قسم! تو اسے چاہئے کہ لا الٰہ الا اللہ کہے۔ اور جو کوئی کسی دوسرے سے کہے کہ آؤ جواء کھیلیں تو وہ صدقہ کرے۔ ایک روایت میں”لات“کے ساتھ”عزیٰ“کا بھی ذکر ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1013]
