Hadrat Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Allah, the Mighty and Glorious, would say: O Adam (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! And he would say: At Thy service, at Thy beck and call, O Lord, and all goodness is in Thy Hand. Allah would say: Bring forth the group of (the denizens of) Fire. He (Adam, peace be upon him) would say: Who are the denizens of Hell? It would be said: Out of every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: It is at this juncture that every child would become white-haired and every pregnant woman would abort, and you would see people in a state of intoxication, and they would not be in fact intoxicated, but grievous would be the torment of Allah.' He (the narrator) said: This had a very depressing effect upon them (upon the Companions, may Allah be well pleased with them all) and they submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who amongst us would be (that unfortunate) person? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Rejoice! The thousand are from Yajuj and Majuj and one (destined for Paradise) is from amongst you.' He (the narrator) said: Then he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I hope that you would constitute one-fourth of the inhabitants of Paradise.' We extolled Allah and glorified (Him). He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then stated: 'By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I hope that you would constitute one-third of the inhabitants of Paradise.' We extolled Allah and glorified (Him). He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then stated: 'By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I hope that you would constitute half of the inhabitants of Paradise. Your likeness among the other peoples is like a white hair on the skin of a black ox or like a small mark on the foreleg of a donkey.'
Urdu Translation
جریر نے اعمش سے حدیث سنائی، انہوں نے ابو صالح سے اور انہوں نے حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''اللہ عزوجل فرمائے گا: اے آدم (علیہ السلام)! وہ عرض کریں گے: میں حاضر ہوں (میرے رب!) قسمت کی خوبی (تیری عطا ہے) اور ساری خیر تیرے ہاتھ میں ہے! اللہ فرمائے گا: دوزخیوں کی جماعت کو الگ کر دو۔ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام عرض کریں گے: دوزخیوں کی جماعت (تعداد میں) کیا ہے؟ اللہ فرمائے گا: ہر ہزار میں سے نو سو ننانوے۔ یہ وقت ہو گا جب بچے بوڑھے ہو جائیں گے۔ ہر حاملہ اپنا حمل گرا دے گی اور تم لوگوں کو مدہوش کی طرح دیکھو گے، حالانکہ وہ (نشے میں) مدہوش نہ ہوں گے بلکہ اللہ کا عذاب ہی بہت سخت ہو گا۔'' حضرت ابو سعید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا کہ یہ بات ان (صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم) پر حد درجہ گراں گزری۔ انہوں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم)! ہم میں سے وہ (ایک) آدمی کون ہے؟ تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''خوش ہو جاؤ، ہزار یاجوج ماجوج میں سے ہیں اور ایک تم میں سے ہے۔'' (حضرت ابو سعید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے) کہا: پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم اہل جنت کا چوتھائی (حصہ) ہو گے۔'' ہم نے اللہ تعالیٰ کی حمد کی اور تکبیر کہی (اللہ اکبر کہا)، پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم اہل جنت کا تہائی (حصہ) ہو گے۔'' ہم نے اللہ کی حمد کی اور تکبیر کہی، پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم اہل جنت کا آدھا حصہ ہو گے۔ (دوسری) امتوں کے مقابلے میں تمہاری مثال اس سفید بال کی سی ہے جو سیاہ بیل کی جلد پر ہوتا ہے یا اس چھوٹے سے نشان کی سی ہے جو گدھے کے اگلے پاؤں پر ہوتا ہے۔''
