حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ الْحَنَفِيُّ أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ خَيْبَرَ أَقْبَلَ نَفَرٌ مِنْ صَحَابَةِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالُوا فُلاَنٌ شَهِيدٌ فُلاَنٌ شَهِيدٌ حَتَّى مَرُّوا عَلَى رَجُلٍ فَقَالُوا فُلاَنٌ شَهِيدٌ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " كَلاَّ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ فِي النَّارِ فِي بُرْدَةٍ غَلَّهَا أَوْ عَبَاءَةٍ " . ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ اذْهَبْ فَنَادِ فِي النَّاسِ إِنَّهُ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلاَّ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ " . قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ فَنَادَيْتُ " أَلاَ إِنَّهُ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلاَّ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) said: Hadrat Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated to me, saying: On the day of (the battle of) Khaybar, some Companions of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came and said: So-and-so is a martyr, so-and-so is a martyr — until they mentioned a certain man and said: He is a martyr. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: By no means! I have seen him in the Fire because of a striped garment or cloak that he had stolen from the spoils. Then the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: O son of al-Khattab, go and announce among the people that none shall enter Paradise except the believers. He (Hadrat Umar, may Allah be well pleased with him) said: I went out and announced: Be warned! None shall enter Paradise except the believers.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبد اللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے کہا: مجھے حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے حدیث سنائی، کہا: خیبر (کی جنگ) کا دن تھا، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے کچھ صحابہ آئے اور کہنے لگے: فلاں شہید ہے، فلاں شہید ہے، یہاں تک کہ ایک آدمی کا تذکرہ ہوا تو کہنے لگے: وہ شہید ہے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ہرگز نہیں، میں نے اسے ایک دھاری دار چادر یا عبا (چوری کرنے) کی بنا پر آگ میں دیکھا ہے۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اے خطاب کے بیٹے! جا کر لوگوں میں اعلان کر دو کہ جنت میں مومنوں کے سوا کوئی داخل نہ ہو گا۔ انہوں نے کہا: میں باہر نکلا اور (لوگوں میں) اعلان کیا: متنبہ رہو! جنت میں مومنوں کے سوا اور کوئی داخل نہ ہو گا۔
