Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنِي سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ الأَصْفَرِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، - رضى الله عنه - أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، قَدِمَ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " بِمَ أَهْلَلْتَ " . فَقَالَ أَهْلَلْتُ بِإِهْلاَلِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم . قَالَ " لَوْلاَ أَنَّ مَعِيَ الْهَدْىَ لأَحْلَلْتُ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Anas (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Hadrat 'Ali (Allah be pleased with him) came from the Yemen, and the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated:With (what intention) have you put on Ihram? He said: I have put on Ibram in accordance with the intention with which Allah's Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) has put on Ibram, whereupon he (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) said: Had there not been the sacrificial animals with me, I would have put off Ihram (after performing 'Umra)
Urdu Translation
(عبد الرحمٰن ) بن مہدی نے ہمیں حدیث سنا ئی ( کہا ) مجھے سلیم بن حیا ن نے مروان اصغر سے حدیث سنا ئی ، انھوں نے حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ حضرت علی المرتضیٰ کرّم اللہ تعالیٰ وجہہ الکریم ( حجۃ الوداع کے موقع پر ) یمن سے مکہ پہنچے تو نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ان سے پوچھا : " تم نے کیا تلبیہ پکا را ؟انھوں نے جواب دیا : میں نے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے تلبیے کے مطا بق تلبیہ پکا را ۔ آپ نے فرمایا : " اگر میرے پاس قربانی نہ ہو تی تو میں ضرور احلال ( احرا م سے فراغت ) اختیا ر کر لیتا ۔
