حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ عِتْبَانَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَلَقِيتُ عِتْبَانَ فَقُلْتُ حَدِيثٌ بَلَغَنِي عَنْكَ قَالَ أَصَابَنِي فِي بَصَرِي بَعْضُ الشَّىْءِ فَبَعَثْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنِي فَتُصَلِّيَ فِي مَنْزِلِي فَأَتَّخِذَهُ مُصَلًّى - قَالَ - فَأَتَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَمَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَدَخَلَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فِي مَنْزِلِي وَأَصْحَابُهُ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ أَسْنَدُوا عُظْمَ ذَلِكَ وَكِبْرَهُ إِلَى مَالِكِ بْنِ دُخْشُمٍ قَالُوا وَدُّوا أَنَّهُ دَعَا عَلَيْهِ فَهَلَكَ وَوَدُّوا أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهُ شَرٌّ . فَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الصَّلاَةَ وَقَالَ " أَلَيْسَ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ " . قَالُوا إِنَّهُ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ وَمَا هُوَ فِي قَلْبِهِ . قَالَ " لاَ يَشْهَدُ أَحَدٌ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَيَدْخُلَ النَّارَ أَوْ تَطْعَمَهُ " . قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَأَعْجَبَنِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ فَقُلْتُ لاِبْنِي اكْتُبْهُ فَكَتَبَهُ .
English Translation
Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated: Thabit narrated to us from Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him), who said: Mahmud ibn al-Rabi' (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated to me from Hadrat Itban ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him). (Mahmud, may Allah be well pleased with him, said:) I came to Madinah and met Hadrat Itban (may Allah be well pleased with him) and said: I have received a hadith about you. He said: My eyesight had become somewhat impaired, so I sent a message to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saying that I wished him to come to my house and pray there so that I may take it as a place of prayer. So the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came along with whoever Allah willed, entered the house, and prayed. His companions began discussing Malik ibn al-Dukhshum among themselves... (then he narrated the hadith in which the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, stated): Does he not bear witness that there is no god but Allah, seeking thereby the pleasure of Allah?... Allah the Exalted has made the fire of Hell forbidden upon the one who says 'There is no god but Allah,' seeking thereby the pleasure of Allah.
Urdu Translation
سلیمان بن مغیرہ نے بیان کیا: ہمیں ثابت نے حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے حدیث سنائی، انہوں نے کہا: مجھے محمود بن ربیع رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے حضرت عتبان بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے حدیث سنائی۔ (محمود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے) کہا کہ میں مدینہ آیا تو حضرت عتبان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے ملا اور میں نے کہا: مجھے آپ کے بارے میں ایک حدیث پہنچی ہے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: میری بینائی میں کچھ کمزوری آ گئی تھی، میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی طرف پیغام بھیجا کہ میری خواہش ہے کہ آپ میرے گھر تشریف لائیں اور میرے گھر میں نماز پڑھیں تاکہ میں اس جگہ کو نماز پڑھنے کی جگہ بنا لوں۔ چنانچہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور آپ کے ساتھ جنہیں اللہ نے چاہا وہ بھی آئے۔ آپ نے گھر میں داخل ہو کر نماز پڑھی۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے صحابہ آپس میں مالک بن دخشم کا ذکر کرنے لگے... (پھر حدیث بیان کی جس میں آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا): کیا وہ لا الہ الا اللہ کی گواہی نہیں دیتا اور اس سے اللہ کی رضا چاہتا ہے؟... اللہ تعالیٰ نے دوزخ کی آگ اس شخص پر حرام کر دی ہے جس نے لا الہ الا اللہ کہا اور اس سے اللہ کی رضا چاہی۔
