وَحَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ - عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ إِذَا صَلَّيْتُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْمَكْتُوبَاتِ وَصُمْتُ رَمَضَانَ وَأَحْلَلْتُ الْحَلاَلَ وَحَرَّمْتُ الْحَرَامَ وَلَمْ أَزِدْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا أَأَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ " نَعَمْ " . قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لاَ أَزِيدُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا .
English Translation
Salamah ibn Shabib narrated to me, al-Hasan ibn A'yan narrated to us, Ma'qil — meaning Ibn 'Ubaydullah — narrated from Abu Hadrat al-Zubayr, from Hadrat Jabir (may Allah be well pleased with him), that a man came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and submitted: 'Tell me, if I pray the prescribed prayers, fast in Ramadan, regard the lawful as lawful and the unlawful as unlawful, and do nothing beyond that, shall I enter Paradise?' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Yes.' The man said: 'By Allah, I shall not add anything beyond that.'
Urdu Translation
مجھ سے سلمہ بن شبیب نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے حسن بن اعین نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے معقل یعنی ابن عبیداللہ نے ابو الزبیر سے، انہوں نے حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو کر عرض کیا: بتائیے اگر میں فرض نمازیں پڑھوں، رمضان کے روزے رکھوں، حلال کو حلال اور حرام کو حرام سمجھوں اور اس سے زیادہ کچھ نہ کروں تو کیا میں جنت میں داخل ہو جاؤں گا؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''ہاں۔'' اس نے عرض کیا: اللہ کی قسم! میں اس سے زیادہ کچھ نہیں کروں گا۔
