English Translation
'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was reclining in his house with his thigh uncovered when Abu Bakr sought permission to enter, and he permitted him while remaining in that condition. Then 'Umar sought permission and he permitted him while remaining in that condition. Then 'Uthman sought permission, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sat up and arranged his garment. When they left, I said: "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr and 'Umar entered and you did not move, but when 'Uthman entered you sat up and arranged your garment?" He said: "Shall I not be modest before a man whom the angels feel shy of?" Reported by Muslim.
