English Translation

Yusayr ibn Jabir reported: A red wind blew in Kufah, and a man came who had nothing to say except: "O Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, the Hour has come!" He (Ibn Mas'ud) was reclining and sat up and said: "The Hour will not come until inheritance is not divided and spoils of war bring no joy." Then he pointed toward Syria and said: "An enemy will gather against the Muslims, and the Muslims will gather against them." He was asked: "Do you mean the Romans?" He said: "Yes." He mentioned the hadith similarly to that of the previous narration. Narrated by Muslim.
