وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم: «فَوَاللَّهِ لَا الْفَقْرُ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تُبْسَطَ عَلَيْكُمُ الدُّنْيَا كَمَا بُسِطَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَتَنَافَسُوهَا كَمَا تَنَافَسُوهَا وتهلككم كَمَا أهلكتهم». مُتَّفق عَلَيْهِ
English Translation
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The thing I fear most for you is what Allah brings forth for you of the adornments of the world." They said: "What are the adornments of the world, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "The blessings of the earth." He was asked: "Can good bring about evil?" He remained silent for a while until we thought he was receiving revelation. Then he wiped the sweat from his forehead and said: "Where is the questioner?" He said: "Here I am." He said: "Good does not bring about evil. Indeed, what the spring produces can sometimes kill or bring near to death the animal that eats excessively — except the animal that eats al-khadir (green vegetation). It eats until its flanks are stretched, then faces the sun, defecates and urinates, then grazes again. This wealth is sweet and green. Blessed is the wealth of a Muslim from which he gives to the poor, the orphan, and the wayfarer. Whoever takes it without right is like the one who eats but is never satisfied, and it will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection." Agreed upon.
Urdu Translation
عمرو بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا:”اللہ کی قسم! میں تمہارے متعلق فقر سے نہیں ڈرتا لیکن مجھے تمہارے متعلق اس بات کا اندیشہ ہے کہ دنیا تم پر فراخ کر دی جائے گی جیسے تم سے پہلے لوگوں پر فراخ کی گئی تھی، پھر تم اس کے متعلق ویسے ہی رغبت رکھو گے جیسے انہوں نے اس کے متعلق رغبت رکھی، اور وہ تمہیں ہلاک کر دے گی جیسے اس نے انہیں ہلاک کر دیا۔“متفق علیہ۔[مشكوة المصابيح/كتاب الرقاق/حدیث: 5163]
