Arabic (Original)
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ فَلَوْ كَانَ شَيْءٌ سَابَقَ الْقَدَرِ سَبَقَتْهُ الْعَيْنُ وَإِذَا اسْتُغْسِلْتُمْ فاغسِلوا». رَوَاهُ مُسلم
English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: "The evil eye is real. If anything were to overtake the divine decree, the evil eye would overtake it. And when you are asked to wash (for someone afflicted by the evil eye), then wash." Narrated by Muslim.
Urdu Translation
ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ، نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا:”نظر (کی تاثیر) ثابت ہے، اگر کوئی چیز تقدیر پر سبقت لے جانے والی ہوتی تو نظر اس پر سبقت لے جاتی اور جب تم سے غسل کا مطالبہ کیا جائے تو غسل کرو۔“رواہ مسلم۔[مشكوة المصابيح/كتاب الطب والرقى/حدیث: 4531]
