Arabic (Original)
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهُ أَن يُجهِّزَ جَيْشًا فنفدتِ الإِبلُ فأمرَهُ أَن يَأْخُذَ عَلَى قَلَائِصِ الصَّدَقَةِ فَكَانَ يَأْخُذُ الْبَعِيرَ بِالْبَعِيرَيْنِ إِلَى إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ
English Translation
‘Abdallah b. ‘Amr b. al-‘As told that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) commanded him to equip an army, but when the camels were insufficient he commanded him to keep back the young camels of the sadaqa, and he was taking a camel to be replaced by two when the camels of the sadaqa came. Abu Dawud transmitted it.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن حضرت عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انہیں ایک لشکر تیار کرنے کا حکم دیا۔ اونٹ کم پڑ گئے تو آپ نے حکم دیا کہ صدقے کی جوان اونٹنیوں کے عوض (ادھار) لے لو۔ تو وہ صدقے کے اونٹ آنے تک ایک اونٹ دو اونٹوں کے بدلے لیتے تھے۔ (حضرت ابوداؤد)
