489 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّاسُ مَهَنَةَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ، وَكَانُوا إذَا رَاحُوا إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ رَاحُوا فِي هَيْئَتِهِمْ، فَقِيلَ لَهُمْ لَوِ اغْتَسَلْتُمْ
English Translation
A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: People used to work with their own hands, and when they went for the Friday prayer, they went in their working clothes. They were told: "If only you would take a bath."
Urdu Translation
سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا فرماتی تھیں کہ لوگ اپنے کاموں میں مشغول رہتے اور جمعہ کے لیے اسی حالت (میل کچیل) میں چلے آتے، اس لیے ان سے کہا گیا:”کاش تم لوگ (کبھی) غسل کر لیا کرتے۔“[اللؤلؤ والمرجان/كتاب الجمعة/حدیث: 489]
