حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " خَيْرُ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الإِثْمِدُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعَرَ " .
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated:“The best of your kohl is antimony, for it improves the eyesight and makes the hair (eyelashes) grow.”
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: سب سے بہتر سرمہ اثمد کا ہے، وہ نظر ( بینائی ) تیز کرتا، اور بالوں کو اگاتا ہے ۔
