حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَتَّابٍ، - مَوْلَى هُرْمُزَ - قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فَقَالَ " فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ " .
English Translation
It was narrated that ‘Attab, the freed slave of Hurmuz, said:“I heard Hadrat Anas bin Malik say: ‘We gave our pledge to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) on the basis that we would listen and obey. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “As much as you can.”
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے سننے اور اطاعت کرنے پر بیعت کی، تو آپ نے فرمایا: جہاں تک تم سے ہو سکے ۱؎۔
