Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ حَنَشٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ يَطْلُبُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِدَيْنٍ أَوْ بِحَقٍّ فَتَكَلَّمَ بِبَعْضِ الْكَلاَمِ فَهَمَّ صَحَابَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَهْ إِنَّ صَاحِبَ الدَّيْنِ لَهُ سُلْطَانٌ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَهُ " .
English Translation
It is narrated that Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with him) said:“A man came to ask the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) for some debt or some right, and he spoke harshly to him, and the Companions of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) wanted to rebuke him. But the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Let him be, for the one who is owed something has authority over the debtor, until it is paid off.' ”
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے اپنا قرض یا حق مانگنے آیا، اور کچھ ( نامناسب ) الفاظ کہے، صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم اس کی طرف بڑھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: نہیں، رہنے دو، قرض خواہ کو مقروض پر غلبہ اور برتری رہتی ہے، یہاں تک کہ وہ اسے ادا کر دے ۔
