Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ " إِنَّهُ لَيَسْتَغْفِرُ لِلْعَالِمِ مَنْ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الأَرْضِ حَتَّى الْحِيتَانِ فِي الْبَحْرِ " .
English Translation
It is narrated that Hadrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: 'Everyone in the universe, in the heavens and on earth, prays for forgiveness for the scholar, even the fish in the sea
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوالدرداء رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا: عالم کے لیے آسمان و زمین کی تمام مخلوق مغفرت طلب کرتی ہے، یہاں تک کہ سمندر میں مچھلیاں بھی ۱؎۔
