حَدَّثَنَامُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَزِيعٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، قَالَ: أَنَاإِسْحَاقُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُوسُفَ الأَزْرَقَ، قَالَ: ثَنَاسُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْعَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْأَبِيهِرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ وَقْتِ الصَّلاةِ، فَقَالَ:" صَلِّ مَعَنَا هَذَيْنِ، فَأَمَرَ بِلالا حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَأَذَّنَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الظُّهْرَ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ بَيْضَاءُ نَقِيَّةٌ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْمَغْرِبَ حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْعِشَاءَ حِينَ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْفَجْرَ حِينَ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الثَّانِي أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُبْرِدَ بِالظُّهْرِ، فَأَنْعَمَ أَنْ يُبْرِدَ بِهَا ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ يَعْنِي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ الَّذِي كَانَ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْمَغْرِبَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْعِشَاءَ حِينَ ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْفَجْرَ فَأَسْفَرَ بِهَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ وَقْتِ الصَّلاةِ؟ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ الرَّجُلُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: وَقْتُ صَلاتِكُمْ مَا بَيْنَ مَا رَأَيْتُمْ".
English Translation
Narrated Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked him about the times of prayer. He said: "Pray with us for these two days." When the sun had passed its meridian, he commanded Bilal to give the Adhan, then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for the Zuhr. Then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for the Asr while the sun was still high, white, and clear. Then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for the Maghrib when the sun had set. Then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for the Isha when the twilight had disappeared. Then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for the Fajr when dawn broke. On the second day, he commanded him to delay the Zuhr and he delayed it well. Then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for the Asr while the sun was still high but later than the previous day. Then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for the Maghrib before the twilight disappeared. Then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for the Isha when one-third of the night had passed. Then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for the Fajr when it was well-lit. Then he said: "Where is the one who asked about the times of prayer?" The man stood before him, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The time for your prayers is between what you have seen."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا بریده رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ایک آدمی نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس نمازوں کے اوقات پوچھنے آیا، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اسے فرمایا: دو دن ہمارے ساتھ نماز پڑھیں۔ چنانچہ جب سورج ڈھل گیا، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کو حکم دیا، انہوں نے اذان کہی، پھر حکم دیا، تو انہوں نے ظہر کی اقامت کہی، پھر آپ کے حکم پر انہوں نے عصر کی اقامت کہی جب کہ سورج ابھی اونچا، سفید اور صاف تھا، پھر جب سورج ڈوب گیا تو آپ کے کہنے پر انہوں نے مغرب کی اقامت کہی، پھر جب شفق غائب ہو گئی تو آپ کے کہنے پر انہوں نے عشا کی اقامت کہی، پھر جب فجر طلوع ہو گئی تو آپ کے حکم پر انہوں نے فجر کی اقامت کہی، پھر جب دوسرا دن ہوا، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے سیدنا بلال کو نماز ظہر مؤخر کرنے کا حکم دیا، چنانچہ انہوں نے خوب دیر کی، پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے حکم پر انہوں نے عصر کی اقامت کہی جب کہ سورج ابھی اونچا تھا، لیکن پہلے دن سے کافی مؤخر کیا، پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے حکم پر انہوں نے مغرب کی اقامت شفق غروب ہونے سے پہلے کہی، پھر آپ کیا یہ ہم کے حکم پر انہوں نے عشا کی اقامت تہائی رات گزرنے کے بعد کہی، پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے حکم پر انہوں نے فجر کی اقامت روشنی پھیلنے پر کہی، پھر فرمایا: نمازوں کے اوقات پوچھنے والا شخص کہاں ہے؟ وہ آدمی آپ کے پاس اٹھ کر آیا، رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: آپ کی نمازوں کا وقت ان کے درمیان ہے، جو آپ نے دیکھا۔[المنتقى ابن الجارود/كتاب الصلاة/حدیث: 151]
