أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ الْقَارِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ هِشَامَ بْنَ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ فَقَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْفُرْقَانِ عَلَى غَيْرِ مَا أَقْرَؤُهَا وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَقْرَأَنِيهَا فَكِدْتُ أَنْ أَعْجَلَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَمْهَلْتُ حَتَّى انْصَرَفَ ثُمَّ لَبَّبْتُهُ بِرِدَائِهِ فَجِئْتُ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ هَذَا يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْفُرْقَانِ عَلَى غَيْرِ مَا أَقْرَأْتَنِيهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اقْرَأْ» فَقَرَأَ الْقِرَاءَةَ الَّتِي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ» ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي «اقْرَأْ» فَقَرَأْتُ فَقَالَ «هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ أُنْزِلَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ فَاقْرَؤُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ»
English Translation
Ahmad bin Ali bin al-Muthanna narrated to us, Yahya bin Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: Mansur narrated to us from Rib'i bin Hirash from a man whose name I have forgotten from Ali who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said: Show him his minor sins and keep his major sins hidden from him. So it will be said to him: On such and such a day you did such and such, and on such and such a day you did such and such. And he will continue to confess, not denying anything, while he is worried about his major sins. Then it will be said: Give him a good deed in place of every bad deed. Then he will say: I have sins that I do not see here.' And Shu'bah said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) laughing until his molars showed.
