أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ نَبِيٌّ قَبْلِي إِلَّا وَقَدْ أَنْذَرَ قَوْمَهُ الدَّجَّالَ وَإِنِّي أُنْذِرُكُمُوهُ» قَالَ فَوَصَفَهُ لَنَا وَقَالَ «لَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يُدْرِكَهُ بَعْضُ مَنْ رَآنِي أَوْ سَمِعَ كَلَامِي» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قُلُوبُنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ مِثْلُهَا الْيَوْمَ؟ فَقَالَ «أَوْ خَيْرٌ»
English Translation
Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Azdi informed us, Ishaq ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Affan ibn Muslim informed us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us from Khalid al-Hadhdha from Abdullah ibn Shaqiq from Abdullah ibn Suraqah from Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah who said: I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: "There was no prophet before me except that he warned his people about the Dajjal, and I warn you about him." He then described him to us and said: "Perhaps some of those who have seen me or heard my words will encounter him." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, will our hearts on that day be like they are today?" He said: "Or better."
