English Translation
Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Salm informed us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, al-Awza'i narrated to us, Hassan ibn Atiyyah narrated to me, Makhul turned to Khalid ibn Ma'dan and we turned with him. He narrated to us from Jubayr ibn Nufayr that Dhu Mikhbar, the nephew of al-Najashi, narrated to him that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "You will make peace with the Romans in a secure peace, then you and they will fight an enemy from beyond them, and you will be victorious, safe, and take spoils until you camp at a meadow. Then a speaker from the Romans will say: 'The cross has prevailed,' and a speaker from the Muslims will say: 'Rather, Allah has prevailed.' They will exchange these words while their cross is not far from the Muslims. A man from the Muslims will rise to it and smash it. They will rise against the one who broke their cross and strike his neck. The Muslims will rise to their weapons and fight. Allah will honor that group with martyrdom. They will come to their king and say: 'We have spared you from the Arabian Peninsula.' So they will gather for the great battle and come under eighty banners, under each banner twelve thousand."
