Al-Mufaddal ibn Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Al-Jandi informed us in Makkah, Ali ibn Ziyad Al-Lahji narrated to us, Abu Qurrah Musa ibn Tariq narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj who said: Abdullah ibn Uthman ibn Khuthaym narrated to us from Abu Al-Zubayr from Jabir that when they returned to Madinah from the Umrah of Al-Ji'ranah, the Prophet ﷺ sent Abu Bakr may Allah be pleased with him to lead the Hajj. We went with him until when we were at Al-'Arj, he called for Fajr prayer. When he stood up for the Takbir, he heard the bellowing of a camel behind him, so he stopped from the Takbir and said: 'This is the bellowing of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ camel Al-Jad'a, perhaps it is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so we can pray with him.' It was Ali upon it. Abu Bakr said to him: 'Are you a commander or a messenger?' He said: 'No, rather a messenger. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me with (Surah) Bara'ah to recite it to the people at the stations of Hajj.' We arrived in Makkah, and when it was the day before Tarwiyah, Abu Bakr stood and addressed the people. When he finished, Ali stood and recited Bara'ah until he completed it. Then we went out with him until when it was the Day of Arafah, Abu Bakr stood and addressed the people, teaching them their rites. When he finished, Ali stood and recited Bara'ah to the people until he completed it. Then it was the Day of Sacrifice, we performed the Tawaf. When Abu Bakr returned, he addressed the people and informed them about their Tawaf, their sacrifice, and their rites. When he finished, Ali stood and recited Bara'ah to the people until he completed it. When it was the first day of Nafr (departure), Abu Bakr stood and addressed the people, informing them how to depart and how to throw (pebbles) and taught them their rites. When he finished, Ali stood and recited Bara'ah to the people until he completed it.

مفضل بن محمد بن ابراہیم الجندی نے مکہ میں ہمیں خبر دی، علی بن زیاد اللحجی نے ہمیں حدیث بیان کی، ابو قرہ موسیٰ بن طارق نے ہمیں حدیث بیان کی، ابن جریج سے جنہوں نے کہا: عبداللہ بن عثمان بن خثیم نے ہمیں ابو الزبیر سے حدیث بیان کی، انہوں نے جابر سے کہ جب وہ جعرانہ کے عمرے سے مدینہ واپس آئے تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کو حج کا امیر بنا کر بھیجا۔ ہم ان کے ساتھ چلے یہاں تک کہ جب ہم عرج میں تھے تو انہوں نے فجر کی نماز کے لیے اذان دی۔ جب وہ تکبیر کے لیے کھڑے ہوئے تو انہوں نے اپنے پیچھے اونٹ کی آواز سنی، تو انہوں نے تکبیر سے رک گئے اور کہا: 'یہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کی اونٹنی الجدعاء کی آواز ہے، شاید رسول اللہ ﷺ ہوں تاکہ ہم ان کے ساتھ نماز پڑھیں۔' تو اس پر علی رضی اللہ عنہ تھے۔ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان سے کہا: 'کیا آپ امیر ہیں یا قاصد؟' انہوں نے کہا: 'نہیں بلکہ قاصد ہوں۔ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مجھے سورہ براءۃ کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے تاکہ میں اسے حج کے مقامات پر لوگوں کو پڑھ کر سناؤں۔' ہم مکہ پہنچے، اور جب ترویہ سے ایک دن پہلے تھا تو ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور لوگوں سے خطاب کیا۔ جب وہ فارغ ہوئے تو علی رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور براءۃ پڑھی یہاں تک کہ اسے مکمل کیا۔ پھر ہم ان کے ساتھ نکلے یہاں تک کہ جب عرفہ کا دن تھا تو ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور لوگوں سے خطاب کیا، انہیں ان کے مناسک سکھائے۔ جب وہ فارغ ہوئے تو علی رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور لوگوں کو براءۃ پڑھی یہاں تک کہ اسے مکمل کیا۔ پھر قربانی کا دن تھا، ہم نے طواف کیا۔ جب ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ واپس آئے تو انہوں نے لوگوں سے خطاب کیا اور انہیں ان کے طواف، قربانی اور مناسک کے بارے میں بتایا۔ جب وہ فارغ ہوئے تو علی رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور لوگوں کو براءۃ پڑھی یہاں تک کہ اسے مکمل کیا۔ جب پہلی نفر کا دن تھا تو ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور لوگوں سے خطاب کیا، انہیں بتایا کہ کیسے نکلیں اور کیسے رمی کریں اور انہیں ان کے مناسک سکھائے۔ جب وہ فارغ ہوئے تو علی رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور لوگوں کو براءۃ پڑھی یہاں تک کہ اسے مکمل کیا۔
