أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ* أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّمَا سُمَيَّ الْخَضِرُ خَضِرًا لِأَنَّهُ جَلَسَ عَلَى فَرْوَةٍ بَيْضَاءَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَهْتَزُّ تَحْتَهُ خَضْرَاءَ»
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Al-Khidr was called al-Khidr (the green one) because he sat on a white dry patch of land, and it began to sway beneath him with greenery."
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "خضر کو خضر (سبز) اس لیے کہا گیا کہ وہ ایک سفید خشک زمین پر بیٹھے تو وہ ان کے نیچے سبز ہو کر لہلہانے لگی۔"
