أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا عَدْوَى» وَحَدَّثَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يُورِدُ مُمْرِضٌ عَلَى مُصِحٍّ» قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ فَكَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ بِهِمَا كِلَيْهِمَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ صَمَتَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ «لَا عَدْوَى» وَأَقَامَ عَلَى أَنْ «لَا يُورِدُ مُمْرِضٌ عَلَى مُصِحٍّ» فَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي ذِئَابٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَمِّ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُكَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ تُحَدِّثُنَا مَعَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ حَدِيثًا آخَرَ قَدْ سَكَتَّ عَنْهُ كُنْتَ تَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا عَدْوَى» فَأَبِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَنْ يَعْرِفَ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ «لَا يُورِدُ مُمْرِضٌ عَلَى مُصِحٍّ» قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ وَلَعَمْرِي لَقَدْ كَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا عَدْوَى» وَلَا أَدْرِي أَنَسِيَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَوْ نَسَخَ أَحَدُ الْقَوْلَيْنِ الْآخَرَ
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "There is no contagious disease." He also narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "The owner of sick animals should not bring them near the healthy ones." Abu Salamah said: Abu Hurayrah used to narrate both hadiths from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), then he stopped narrating the saying "there is no contagious disease" and continued with "the owner of sick animals should not bring them near healthy ones." Al-Harith ibn Abi Dhi'ab, who was Abu Hurayrah's cousin, said: "O Abu Hurayrah, I used to hear you narrate along with this hadith another one which you have now stopped narrating. You used to say the Beloved Messenger of Allah stated: 'There is no contagious disease.'" Abu Hurayrah refused to acknowledge that and said: "The owner of sick animals should not bring them near the healthy ones." Abu Salamah said: "By my life, Abu Hurayrah used to narrate to us that the Beloved Messenger of Allah stated: 'There is no contagious disease.' I do not know whether Abu Hurayrah forgot, or whether one of the two statements abrogated the other."
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "(ازخود) چھوت لگنا نہیں ہے۔" انہوں نے یہ بھی روایت کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "بیمار جانوروں کا مالک انہیں تندرست جانوروں کے قریب نہ لائے۔" ابو سلمہ نے کہا: ابوہریرہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے دونوں حدیثیں بیان کرتے تھے، پھر بعد میں "چھوت لگنا نہیں ہے" کہنا بند کر دیا اور "بیمار جانور تندرست کے قریب نہ لایا جائے" پر قائم رہے۔ حارث بن ابی ذئاب جو ابوہریرہ کے چچا زاد بھائی تھے نے کہا: "اے ابوہریرہ! میں تمہیں اس حدیث کے ساتھ ایک اور حدیث بیان کرتے سنتا تھا جو تم نے چھوڑ دی ہے۔ تم کہتے تھے کہ رسول اللہ نے فرمایا: 'چھوت لگنا نہیں ہے۔'" ابوہریرہ نے اسے ماننے سے انکار کیا اور فرمایا: "بیمار جانور تندرست کے قریب نہ لایا جائے۔" ابو سلمہ نے کہا: "میری عمر کی قسم! ابوہریرہ ہمیں بیان کرتے تھے کہ رسول اللہ نے فرمایا: 'چھوت لگنا نہیں ہے۔' مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ ابوہریرہ بھول گئے یا ایک قول نے دوسرے کو منسوخ کر دیا۔"
