أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو ضَمْرَةَ أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِشَارِبٍ فَقَالَ «اضْرِبُوهُ» فَمِنَّا الضَّارِبُ بِيَدِهِ وَمِنَّا الضَّارِبُ بِنَعْلِهِ فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ أَخْزَاكَ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُولُوا هَكَذَا لَا تُعِينُوا الشَّيْطَانَ عَلَيْهِ»
English Translation
Al-Hasan ibn Sufyan narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Waki narrated to us from al-Amash, from Zayd ibn Wahb, from Abd Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «There will be selfishness and matters that you will disapprove of.» They said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you command us to do? He said: «Fulfill the rights that are upon you and ask Allah for your rights.»
