أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بِسْطَامٍ بِالْأَبُلَّةِ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَكِ؟ قَالَتْ «مَا يَفْعَلُ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي مِهْنَةِ أَهْلِهِ يَخْصِفُ نَعْلَهُ وَيَخِيطُ ثَوْبَهُ وَيَرْقَعُ دَلْوَهُ»
English Translation
Al-Husayn ibn Ahmad ibn Bistam in al-Abulla informed us, Husayn ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Urwa who said: I said to Aisha: O Mother of the Believers, what did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) do when he was with you? She said: 'What any of you does in the service of his family: he would mend his sandals, sew his garment, and patch his bucket.'
