Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that he said: Verily the Hawazin came on the Day of Hunayn with sheep, camels and flocks, and they arranged them in two rows to appear numerous before the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). The Muslims and the polytheists engaged, and the Muslims turned back in retreat as Allah has stated. Then the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger.» So Allah defeated the polytheists, and we did not strike with a sword nor thrust with a spear. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated that day: «Whoever kills a disbeliever shall have his spoils.» So Hadrat Abu Talhah killed twenty men that day and took their spoils. Hadrat Abu Qatadah said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I struck a man on his shoulder blade while he was wearing armor, but I was hurried away from taking it, so see who has it.' A man stood up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I took it, so compensate him from me and give it to me.' The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) remained silent, and the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would not be asked for anything except that he would either give it or remain silent. So Hadrat Umar said: 'Allah will not bestow it upon one of His lions and then give it to you!' So the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) smiled and stated: «Umar has spoken the truth.» And Hadrat Abu Talhah met Umm Sulaym, and with her was a dagger. He said: 'O Umm Sulaym, what is this with you?' She said: 'I intended that if any of the polytheists came near me, I would split open his belly with it.' Abu Talhah said: 'O Messenger of Allah, do you not hear what Umm Sulaym is saying?' She said: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I kill with it those who were set free and then fled with you?' So he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «O Umm Sulaym, verily Allah has sufficed and done well.»
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: بے شک قبیلہ ہوازن حنین کے دن بکریاں، اونٹ اور ریوڑ لے کر آئے اور انہوں نے انہیں دو صفوں میں کھڑا کیا تاکہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے سامنے کثرت ظاہر کریں۔ مسلمان اور مشرکین آمنے سامنے ہوئے تو مسلمان پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگ گئے جیسا کہ اللہ نے بیان فرمایا۔ تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «میں اللہ کا بندہ اور اس کا رسول ہوں۔» پھر اللہ نے مشرکین کو شکست دی اور ہم نے نہ تلوار ماری نہ نیزہ پھینکا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اس دن ارشاد فرمایا: «جس نے کافر کو قتل کیا اس کے لیے اس کا سامان ہے۔» تو حضرت ابوطلحہ نے اس دن بیس آدمی قتل کیے اور ان کا سامان لے لیا۔ حضرت ابوقتادہ نے کہا: 'یا رسول اللہ! میں نے ایک شخص کو کندھے پر مارا اور اس پر زرہ تھی لیکن مجھے جلدی میں اسے لینے سے روک دیا گیا، تو دیکھیں کہ وہ کس کے پاس ہے۔' ایک آدمی کھڑا ہوا اور کہا: 'یا رسول اللہ! میں نے اسے لے لیا ہے، انہیں مجھ سے راضی کر دیں اور وہ مجھے دے دیں۔' رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم خاموش رہے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب کسی چیز کا سوال کیا جاتا تو یا تو دے دیتے یا خاموش رہتے۔ تو حضرت عمر نے کہا: 'اللہ اسے اپنے شیر پر نہیں دے گا اور تمہیں دے دے گا!' تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مسکرائے اور ارشاد فرمایا: «عمر نے سچ کہا ہے۔» اور حضرت ابوطلحہ نے ام سلیم سے ملاقات کی جن کے پاس خنجر تھا۔ انہوں نے کہا: 'اے ام سلیم! یہ تمہارے پاس کیا ہے؟' انہوں نے کہا: 'میں نے ارادہ کیا کہ اگر کوئی مشرک میرے قریب آئے تو میں اس سے اس کا پیٹ چیر دوں۔' حضرت ابوطلحہ نے کہا: 'یا رسول اللہ! کیا آپ نہیں سن رہے کہ ام سلیم کیا کہہ رہی ہیں؟' انہوں نے کہا: 'یا رسول اللہ! کیا میں اس سے ان لوگوں کو قتل کروں جو آزاد کیے گئے اور پھر آپ سے بھاگ گئے؟' تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «اے ام سلیم! بے شک اللہ نے کافی کر دیا اور اچھا کیا۔»
