أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَرْعَرَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ أَيُّوبَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ أَوْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ الْخَيْلِ الْأَدْهَمُ الْأَقْرَحُ الْأَرْثَمُ الْمُحَجَّلُ ثَلَاثًا طَلْقُ الْيَدِ الْيُمْنَى» قَالَ يَزِيدُ «فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَدْهَمَ فَكُمَيْتٌ عَلَى هَذِهِ الشِّيَةِ»
English Translation
Ahmad ibn Ali ibn al-Muthanna informed us, Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn 'Ar'arah narrated to us, Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, my father narrated to us who said: I heard Yahya ibn Ayyub narrate from Yazid ibn Abi Habib from Ali ibn Rabah from Hadrat 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir or Abu Qatadah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «The best of horses is the deep black one with a white blaze on the forehead, white upper lip, white socks on three legs, and a free right foreleg.» Yazid said: «If it is not deep black, then bay with these markings.»
Urdu Translation
ابو یعلیٰ نے ہمیں بیان کیا، عمرو بن حماد نے ہمیں بیان کیا، اسباط بن نصر نے ہمیں اعمش سے بیان کیا - اسی معنی میں۔
