أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانَ وَكَانَ قَدْ صَامَ النَّهَارَ وَقَامَ اللَّيْلِ ثَمَانِينَ سَنَةً غَازِيًا وَمُرَابِطًا أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَثَلُ الْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ الصَّائِمِ الْقَائِمِ الَّذِي لَا يَفْتُرُ مِنْ صِيَامٍ وَصَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ»
English Translation
Umar ibn Sa'id ibn Sinan informed us — and he had fasted during the day and stood in prayer during the night for eighty years, as a warrior and a border guard — Ahmad ibn Abi Bakr informed us from Malik from Abu al-Zinad from al-A'raj from Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «The example of the one who strives in the path of Allah is like the example of one who fasts and stands in prayer constantly without any respite from fasting and prayer until he returns.»
Urdu Translation
عمر بن سعید بن سنان نے ہمیں خبر دی — اور انہوں نے اسّی سال دن کو روزے رکھے اور رات کو قیام کیا، غازی اور مرابط رہے — احمد بن ابی بکر نے ہمیں مالک سے خبر دی، انہوں نے ابو الزناد سے، انہوں نے اعرج سے، انہوں نے حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرنے والے کی مثال اس کی طرح ہے جو روزہ رکھے اور قیام کرے مسلسل بغیر کسی کمی کے روزے اور نماز میں یہاں تک کہ واپس آئے۔»
